LACONIA, NH - Recently, Trustees from Community Health & Hospice and the VNA-Hospice of Southern Carroll County have voted to enter into an affiliation agreement.
"Pressures in the current healthcare environment are challenging the ability of small agencies to deliver care into the future," states CH&H Executive Director Margaret Franckhauser. "Demands for technology, rising administrative requirements and the increasing complexity of home-based healthcare have intensified the need for high-level business, technical and clinical expertise. An affiliation strengthens both party's ability to provide Home Healthcare and Hospice services while addressing these pressures."
Both agencies were actively looking for a partner to share the burden of administrative and overhead costs while continuing to be able to provide the current level of clinical services and programs to the communities that they currently serve. "It made perfect sense" said Lee White, President of the Board of Directors of The VNA-Hospice of Southern Carroll County. "When we looked closer it was remarkable how much we had to gain and how similar our two organizations really are."
There will be opportunities for the general public to ask questions and give input as both agencies work through the process of an affiliation. The boards and management of both organizations are committed to continuing their history of providing quality home healthcare and hospice services. All parties are confident that this is in the best interest of the supporting communities, now and long into the future.
